Pla Arjharnwongs
Adult Beginner Ballet
Pla was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, where she began RAD ballet training at the age of 9 under Aree Sahavejchapan at the Aree School of Dance. Over 10 years of training laid the foundation for her future in performance and instruction.
Following her undergraduate studies, she joined Dance Center under Vararom Padchimsawas, performing for a year before moving to the United States in 1993 to pursue academic and artistic growth. She earned her MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia and has made California her home ever since.
Pla has continued her ballet training over the years, expanding her dance vocabulary to include modern, jazz, and tap. She trained extensively with Benedicte Schoyen at Born to Play Productions (formerly Santa Monica Dance Studio) and has been teaching ballet to teens and adults since 2010.
At Hollywood Dance Center, Pla teaches Adult Beginner Ballet every Thursday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Her classes are welcoming, technique-focused, and perfect for dancers of all backgrounds.
